Educating and Empowering Learners for Their Future means more than academic achievement. For our students to be prepared for life beyond school/graduation and to engage in meaningful, self-sustaining careers, we must focus on the whole individual. Now more than ever, school systems are faced with ensuring that what students learn and how they learn it, culminates in the development of graduates who are empowered for their future. Our Stone Bank Portrait of a Graduate describes the skills, attributes, and character traits that will empower all students for success now, and in their future.
The Stone Bank Portrait of a Graduate encompasses four themes, each essential for our students as they discover who they are as learners, while they are learning. The themes of ‘Powerful Learner’, ‘Global Skills’, ‘World Class Standards’, and ‘Strong Character’ portray the characteristics of educated, empowered, and contributing members of our society.
Stone Bank School has engaged the larger community in developing our Portrait of a Graduate. The Portrait is a collective vision that articulates our community’s aspirations for all students, and serves as a guide for strategic direction and planning. Locally developed, but globally positioned, the Portrait of a Graduate serves as our ‘guiding star’ as we create powerful learning experiences that ‘educate and empower learners for their future’!
